Most people will agree state and county fairs are a big part of a Wisconsin summer. Starting in 1842, fairs have been the place to go for people of all ages. They give people a chance to show their talents in areas like photography, clothing, or crafts. Fairs have many different animals exhibitions including cows, rabbits, chickens, sheep and many more. These are the traditional items displayed, however, in more recent years, there have been more projects dealing with things like recycling, energy and the environment. You can see almost anything at the fair.
Besides the exhibits, fairs have numerous entertainment events. Want to go to a Tractor Pull, a Truck Pull or a Demolition Derby? Have you always wanted to see a rodeo? Perform in a talent show? Listen to a great band? All of this and more can be done at the fair. Over 3 million people attended Wisconsin fairs in 2013 so go and see what all the fuss is about.
